Fanlisting?
From The Fanlistings
"A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans."
You do not need to have a website to join, just a valid email address!
Miss Havisham
Miss Havisham my not be the most believable character in the story. However, she is definitely an interesting and tragic one, worthy of note.
Early in life, Miss Havisham's mother died. As a result, her father spoiled her until adulthood. When he too died, he left her most of his money. Later, she fell in love with Mr. Compeyson. However, he was only interested in her wealth. She was warned by her family, yet she wouldn't listen. She was too in love. On their wedding day, she received a letter at twenty minutes to nine. The letter was from Compeyson, and she realized the bitter truth. She was heartbroken and humiliated. She set all the clocks in the house to the time when she learned of her betrayal. She remained inside the decaying Satis House and never removed her wedding dress. Only a few people were ever able to see her.
Later, her lawyer, Mr. Jaggers helped her to adopt a daughter. He brought her to her house and she named her Estella. At first, her reasons for adopting the girl was to ease her suffering. However, as the little girl grew older, things changed. She begins to teach Estella to be a weapon against men. Replacing her heart with ice.
Eventually, Miss Havisham calls Pip, the protagonist of the story to the Satis House to entertain her. Pip eventually falls deeply in love with Estella. However, as time progresses, he is constantly hurt by her. By the end of the story, Miss Havisham realizes that she caused Pip's hear to be broken, just the same way that hers was so many years ago. Instead of achieving any sort of personal revenge upon Compeyson, she realizes that she has only caused more pain for others around her. After she begs Pip for forgiveness, he leaves and her wedding dress catches on fire. Pip returns to save her, but she goes into a coma and later dies.
